OFC review notes of CLAPTON

Slowhand fans prepare for an adventure in new Clapton music and hunt for the bonus tunes in CLAPTON the album released September 28. Twenty six tracks recorded, fourteen made the album with three bonus tracks available through various distributors - iTunes, Amazon, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble. Eric Clapton continues to reinvent himself mixing a variety of different genres with hints of nostalgia - blues, jazz, ragtime, dixieland, love songs and ballads.

Signature EC guitar solos surface throughout the album. CLAPTON is an album to listen to in its entirety with riveting, smokin' blues tracks. Highlights include "Hard Times Blues" featuring a rare performance of Eric playing mandolin, "Can't Hold out Much Longer" and bonus tracks "I Was Fooled" and "Take a Little Walk with Me."

The album delves into sultry, jazzy J.J. Cale's "Everything Will Be Alright" with the rich bass, strings, brass and keyboards accompanying a fantastic Wes Montgomery style guitar solo - a jazz fan's delight!  J.J. Cale's entrancing "River Runs Deep" is another surprise departure from Mr. Clapton's standards. Guest artists on the album include Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Derek Trucks, co-producer Doyle Bramhall II and song writer J.J. Cale.
