Three years after her success with “Chasing Pavements” and debut album, 19, British singer Adele is back with an even more passionate and pure sophomore project.  21 shot to number one on iTunes top album charts almost immediately after its release and for good reason. The young artist has a soulful voice rivaled by few of her generation, especially when it comes to female artists. The tracks of the album hold a maturity far beyond Adele’s years, especially “Someone Like You,” where the songwriter wishes well to a past lover.

“Rolling in the Deep,” the first single from the album sounds like nothing else being played on radios today, it's refreshing and lyrically interesting. The 60’s inspired single puts Adele’s sultry voice over tambourines and background singers, making an instant theme song for women-done-wrong all over.

“One and Only” is a serene plea for love that ads variety to the otherwise attention-grabbing powerful album. “Rumor Has It” is one of the most captivating songs with a catchy hook and a little bit of a country twist. Adele’s 21, has cleverly merged soul, jazz, pop, country, and rock music while still sounding completely original. The Grammy winner won’t be able to appear in the New Artist category again, but her deep voluminous voice and vocal range are sure to keep her in the mix for other critical acclaim. Be sure to check out the exclusive track “I Found a Boy” on iTunes.
