June 3, 2011 Fort Lauderdale. Taylor Swift Speak Now Tour speaks volumes of her exquisite musical talent and stage magnificence. "I can't even tell you how happy I am to be here with you this evening Ft. Lauderdale. This is a magical one!" Taylor shares at the sold out Bank Atlantic Center arena.
Beyond extraordinary, award winning Taylor Swift is a prodigy as a multi-talented singer, song writer and guitarist. Swift could have easily pulled this mega world wide tour off by simply bringing her solid portfolio of hits to the stage. But to fans' amazement, the Speak Now Tour transformed TS heavy weight set list into a feast for the eyes and ears unveiling an elaborate yet tasteful presentation of music, dancing and Cirque du Soleil theatrics.
Hairography is Taylor's sweet spot! She has a style uniquely her own and her passion for music and her fans comes through as she flips her hair with exuberance.
The show opened up with stellar hits usually reserved for encores from her latest album SPEAK NOW including "The Story of Us." Taylor, an accomplished guitarist, demonstrated her myriad of instrumental mastery and showmanship. In the opening sequence, she played electric guitar dressed in a gold fringed flapper dress. Taylor seamlessly switched to banjo wearing lacy country girl attire complete with braids as she performed signature hit "Our Song" followed by "Mean."
For "Back To December," Taylor played a white piano in a setting of confetti snow flakes, golden arched bridge and full string orchestra infusing bars from from OneRepublic's song "Apologize." After more dress changes that seemed to take place instantaneously, Taylor did a full acoustic set. Swift walked from the stage, through the crowd to a private tree on the opposite side of the floor where she played ukulele. She told the audience this was her "happy song" intermixing hits from her album FEARLESS with snippets from Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours."
Other songs offered up included "Last Kiss," "You Belong With Me," "Dear John," and "Enchanted." Swift returned from her tree oasis to perform "Haunted" and "Long Live" with Cirque du Soleil acrobats and ballet dancers. Spectacular and breath taking are just a few words to describe this tour de force concert! The show ended with Taylor and her band sitting cozily on a sofa with encores of "Fifteen" and "Love Story."
