As the mother of three young men (21,19,16) I have seen and heard just about everything. The One of those being that I do not have any taste in music. Within the wall of our home we hear everything from techno to classical piano. One of the few things that causes a riot has been music that might be associated with "country". After a recent amicable break up of my 19 year old son with his girlfriend, he announced he was engaged to be married. Knowing that he feels he is even a little young for a serious relationship, this came as a big suprise to me. So I just had to ask "who is it that you are going to marry?". His response brought the whole house to a chuckle. "Taylor Swift" was his answer. Of course I was a bit concerned that we might have the FBI at our door for harrassment - he assured me we would not. His younger brother used the last of his money to buy a Taylor Swift shirt, just for a good natured brother rivalry. Now, every automobile, every MP3, and every cell phone has Taylor Swift in it. We drive around town with the windows down signing at any volume we wish. I think it is safe to say that "country" is no longer a dirty word in the house. Our only regret is that she is not playing in the near future on the west coast. I think the boys would give up just about anything to attend a concert. Maybe someday...

For now, I just have to say "thank you" to Taylor for helping bring my boys around. Most people who know us know.... we aren't planning on sending the invitations out just yet!
