Automatic Loveletter
|
February 6, 2012. Exit 384 Media and Paper + Plastick Records would like to take a moment this Monday afternoon to congratulate Automatic Loveletter’s Juliet Simms, who was chosen as a participant on NBC’s competitive singing TV show, The Voice, over the weekend.
Simms appeared on the show late Sunday night following the Super Bowl and performed a spine-tingling rendition of The Beatles’ “Oh! Darling.” As per the format of the show, the four judges turned around in their chairs as they approved of her performance.
Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green turned around shortly after Simms began singing, with Christina Aguilera waiting right until the end of Simms’ performance to express interest. The three judges made their pitches to Simms, hoping she would join their respective teams for the course of the show, and Simms eventually chose to partner with Cee Lo Green.
She will now appear on the show throughout the season as part of Cee Lo’s team, until she is eliminated or wins the contest.
Simms most recently sang on Automatic Loveletter’s acoustic album, The Kids Will Take Their Monsters On, which was released on Paper + Plastick Records in summer 2011. The band appeared on a portion of the Vans Warped Tour last year as well. Head here to watch Juliet's performance and be sure to "Like" it on Facebook!

“Acoustic albums are a big challenge for any band to pull off, often becoming albums full of the same song with different words, or they just fail to rise above the generic singer-songwriter pap. Luckily, Automatic Loveletter have Juliet Simms who is in possession of one of the strongest and most unique voices in the scene.” – AlterThePress
“Automatic Loveletter pulls off an exceptional record that shows the full potential of Juliet Simms’s range.” – PropertyOfZack
