August 9, 2012. The incomparable Barbra Streisand announced she’s heading out on tour, appearing in a few lucky cities this fall. Barbra Streisand will perform with special guests, Chris Botti and Il Volo, for selected dates. The most accomplished female recording artist ever, Streisand has received 10 Grammys—including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement and Grammy Legend Awards—51 gold albums, 30 platinum albums, and 13 multi-platinum albums. According to the RIAA, Barbra Streisand is the #1 best selling female recording artist in history and the only woman to make the Top 10 all time best selling artists list.
She’ll kick off the tour on October 8 in Philadelphia, PA before making four stops in Canada and one in Chicago. Trumpeter Chris Botti and teen opera sensations, Il Volo, will open for Barbra on all eight dates. Streisand announced the tour wil honor the late Marvin Hamlisch Read more on CBS Local
