Thrice New Release Pre-Order Underway and Headlining Tour Kicks Off September 30th!

Monday, August 8, 2011 - Orange County, CA: Thrice announce pre-order details and an early LP release of their upcoming seventh studio album, "Major / Minor." The LP version of the album will be in stores and online starting Tuesday, September 6th with the CD and digital versions available on September 20th. Each LP comes with a download card, which will be active starting 9/20, 2-LP gatefold packaging, and additional liner notes from the band. The first pressing will be relegated to 4,000 copies worldwide and pressed on clear vinyl with a blue splatter.

Additionally, every physical pre-order comes with an instant MP3 download of an exclusive track, an acoustic version of the song "Anthology." All fans who purchase a pre-order will also be automatically entered to win a signed LP test-pressing of "Major / Minor." LP pre-orders will ship for arrival on September 6th with CD orders shipping for the September 20th release date.

Lastly, fans who prefer digital copies of their albums will have the option of pre-ordering "Major / Minor" through itunes starting August 23rd. The itunes version will feature two exclusive bonus tracks, acoustic versions of the songs "Yellow Belly" and "Promises." The acoustic version of "Promises" will ONLY be available to fans who pre-order the album and will be taken down come 9/20. The acoustic version of "Yellow Belly" will be available in perpetuity.

The Avett Brothers, trail blazing band have popularized folk rock and performed gigs with the legends including Bob Dylan at this year's Grammys, are on the road for 2011 and just announced the next batch of Avett Brothers Tour Dates!! The band will be putting these up for email list only pre-sale, Tuesday, July 26th at noon local market time.

The folk rock band from Concord, North Carolina is made up of two brothers, Scott Avett and Seth Avett, who play the banjo and guitar respectively, Bob Crawford who plays the stand-up bass and Joe Kwon plays the Cello.

The Avett Brothers combine bluegrass, country, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, honky tonk, and ragtime to produce a sound described by the San Francisco Chronicle as having the "heavy sadness of Townes Van Zandt, the light pop concision of Buddy Holly, the tuneful jangle of the Beatles, the raw energy of the Ramones."

Amy Winehouse

July 24, 2011. Amy Winehouse Grammy award winning singer and tragic hero died yesterday at the age of 27 in London. Causes of her death are not known at this time. Ms. Winehouse, who rose to fame with her song "Rehab," ironically shared the struggles so passionately articulated in the lyrics, with her demons of addiction and attempts at recovery.

Many have voiced their sadness of the news including Demi Moore - who tweeted "Truly sad news ... May her troubled soul find peace" - to chef Jamie Oliver, who wrote "such a waste, raw talent" on the social networking site.

Tony Bennett, who recorded the pop standard "Body And Soul" with Winehouse at London's Abbey Road Studios in March for an upcoming duets album, called her "an artist of immense proportions."

"She was an extraordinary musician with a rare intuition as a vocalist and I am truly devastated that her exceptional talent has come to such an early end," he said.
