Automatic Loveletter

February 6, 2012. Exit 384 Media and Paper + Plastick Records would like to take a moment this Monday afternoon to congratulate Automatic Loveletter’s Juliet Simms, who was chosen as a participant on NBC’s competitive singing TV show, The Voice, over the weekend.

Simms appeared on the show late Sunday night following the Super Bowl and performed a spine-tingling rendition of The Beatles’ “Oh! Darling.” As per the format of the show, the four judges turned around in their chairs as they approved of her performance.

Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green turned around shortly after Simms began singing, with Christina Aguilera waiting right until the end of Simms’ performance to express interest. The three judges made their pitches to Simms, hoping she would join their respective teams for the course of the show, and Simms eventually chose to partner with Cee Lo Green.

She will now appear on the show throughout the season as part of Cee Lo’s team, until she is eliminated or wins the contest.

STATESIDE

New York, NY - February 7, 2012 - The post-hardcore quintet known as Stateside have released their debut full-length album, Stand Clear of the Closing Doors TODAY, February 7th. Following the success of their debut EP, this full-length album is quickly becoming one of the most highly-anticipated releases of the New York rock scene. The band will celebrate their release tonight with their Album Release party at NYC's Webster Hall Studio.

You can check out a full stream of Stand Clear of the Closing Doors on AOL

Purchase the album on iTunes

Consisting of Mike Tarry (vocals), Chip Su (guitar), Jeff Meiers (bass), Phil Zepeda (guitar), Eliran Malakov (drums), Stateside has already been featured on Reverb Nation's Top 20 charts for NYC Rock, ranking among huge names in rock such as Eve to Adam, Me Talk Pretty, and Pete Yorn.   Fans of both pop-punk and hardcore will love their sound, which is reminiscent of The Ataris and Blink 182 mixed with the punk intensity of NOFX.

The concept of the new album is a celebration of the life and struggles that come with living in New York City, where the band calls home. "We tried to translate the same 'city energy' into our music, most notably in the track, Make Your Move, which is about the passion New Yorkers have to find opportunities in the town they love," says Su.  The album, much like the every band member, is very focused on making high quality music but definitely maintains a great sense of humor, finishing off the album with a bonus track hardcore-cover of Taylor Swift's, Love Story.

Anderson Announces 40th Anniversary Sequel to the Hugely Successful, Groundbreaking 1972 Album

London, England - February 1, 2012
- Following the recent announcement of a 19-date tour to commemorate the 40th anniversary of 'Thick As A Brick,' on April 2nd (April 3rd in North America) Ian Anderson will release a sequel to the original album.

In 1972, Ian Anderson wrote and recorded the Jethro Tull Progressive Rock classic album 'Thick As A Brick.' The lyrics were credited at the time to the fictitious child character, Gerald Bostock, whose parents supposedly lied about his age.  The record instantly became a number one Billboard Chart album and enjoyed considerable success in many countries of the world.

So, forty years on, what would Gerald Bostock - aged fifty in 2012 - be doing today? What might have befallen him? The anniversary “part two” album will examine the possible different paths that the precocious young schoolboy, Gerald Bostock, might have taken later in life through alter-ego characters with song-section identities illustrating the hugely varied potential twists and turns of fate and opportunity. Not just for Gerald but to echo how our own lives develop, change direction and ultimately conclude through chance encounters and interventions, however tiny and insignificant they might seem at the time.

Ian Anderson says of the album, “As we baby-boomers look back on our own lives, we must often feel an occasional 'what-if' moment. Might we, like Gerald, have

become instead preacher, soldier, down-and-out, shopkeeper or finance tycoon?”  Adding, “And those of more tender years - the social media and internet generation - may choose to ponder well the myriad of chance possibilities ahead of them at every turn.....”
