THIRD EYE BLIND
|
May 5, 2012 West Palm Beach. Cinco de Mayo, Third Eye Blind rocked the Bank of America Stage Day 4 of SunFest with a new moon rising, inspired by fans. Guitarist/vocalist Stephan Jenkins, sincerely touched by the fan excitement, exclaimed "Thank you! We're working on writing songs for a new album and it's you guys who inspire me!"
Third Eye Blind is one of the litany of alt rock bands that we all recall the name. Fifteen years later, it was surprisingly impressive the number of recognizable, timeless hits this band has cranked out and continues to deliver.
The current band line up is duo Stephan Jenkins and Brad Hargreaves (drums, percussion). Songs played this evening offered the catchy riffs that made the band famous like "Never Let You Go." What sets the alternative band apart is an infusion of rapping lyrics on tunes like "Semi Charmed Life" and distinctive elements of progressive rock played in "Monotov Private Opera." Stephan threw out glow sticks to the audience during "Montov" to seal the surreal affect.
Hits from the band's nineties genesis "Jumper," "Graduate" and "Blinded" satisfied core TEB fans wondering now about the new album on the horizon!
